Voilà un petit album bien intéressant. D'un petit groupe intéressant. On a rencontré ce duo dans la rue à Montréal il y a environ un an et on a acheté leur CD par curiosité. Guitare exploratoire, batteur de casserole hautement performant et mélodie jazzée par bout. Essayez ça.
Pour les connaisseurs, il y en a qui ont écouté leur nouvel album "Le déclin du mammifère à long cou?" Pour 7$, je risque bien de l'acheter et de vous faire part de mes commentaires!
C’est quoi?
Black Dub c'est le premier album formé par le groupe Black Dub mené par Daniel Lanois. Black Dub, c'est un mélange de blues, de soul, de rock. On lui donne des notes de 3 étoiles et demi et on salue le talent de Trixie Whitley, avec son contralto profondément profond. Toutes les chansons sont écrites par Lanois, sauf pour "Last Time", un effort de groupe

Une nouvelle soirée prog s'impose, et avec elle vient une tonne d'exclusivités et de nouveau matériel!
Voilà le dernier album de Aeon Zen, ce "groupe" composé d'une seule personne: Rich Hinks à tous les instruments sauf la voix. Le concept devient justement intéressant alors que cet album présente des vocalistes invités provenant de différents groupes (qui vous seront sans doute familiers). Byyye.
Voila pour vous deux albums bien de chez nous :) 
Belle trouvaille d'un groupe qui joue dans le Crossover Prog (Mélange d'éléments prog et d'éléments pop; ici, on y retrouve des moments de jazz.)

The album basically goes through the entire album as if it were a video game soundtrack, 8-bit drums, guitars and pianos rocking the whole way. Sure, it definitely has a creative element to it, I mean how many bands re-release their albums in 8-bit form?! But, as I mentioned above, all of this is a little superfluous.

Page ProgAchives Oui, je le veuxThe Great Escape sounds like mature mix of Pain of Salvation and A.C.T, which leaves you in a place where you really can't ask for more. Except the weak lead guitar sound there is really nothing to point a finger at. This is the Seventh Wonder we all know and love. The insane sense of melody, huge compositions, incredible vocal work, song-writing and musical perfection is all there, and there's no way you'd hate this if you loved Mercy Falls. Even if this isn't quite as good or complex in terms of song-writing, it still kicks a lot of ass, and is clearly one of the best releases of 2010, and one of the most worthwhile progressive metal releases that has come out in ages. If you like the aforementioned bands as well as Symhpony X, The Flower Kings hell, even early Allen/Lande, this should be right up your alley. Great stuff!

Page ProgArchives Oui, je le veuxFeaturing my favourite tracks from Hymn to the Immortal Wind as well as their 2003- 2006 releases this is Mono's first live release and a must have for fans. The addition of an orchestra brings a fuller sound to the performance and make the tracks even more epic than usual! I find that Post Rock as a genre usually treads a very thin line between bland and brilliant. Thankfully the this release falls into the latter category and whilst the majority of it is truly captivating, the weaker sections still manage to hold my interest. This is an excellent addition to any prog rock collection although I don't think it is essential.
